Аннотация
Many commentators assume John's reference to "e;the chosen lady and her children"e; in 2 John 1 refers to the church. But what if there really was a respected Christian sister in the community to whom John entrusted his epistle? What might have been this woman's life story? What might she remember of the apostle "e;whom Jesus loved"e;? Thom Lemmons's biblically based fiction -- third in his popular Daughters of Faith series -- recounts what life might have been like for this woman, whom he envisions as a young Nubian mother. In his dynamic portrait of "e;Amanis,"e; we become eyewitnesses of the last days of the apostolic era, gleaning insights into our own ways of dealing with monumental change within the church and society today. From the Trade Paperback edition.
