Within a few minutes, most of the attackers lay dead or wounded on the ground. Wamba ran up to the Blue Knight, who lay under his fallen horse, and pulled his helmet off.

"Your own father's son," answered Fitzurse.

As he spoke these words, the outlaws immediately fell on their knees in front of him and asked him to forgive them for the crimes that they had committed as outlaws.
