Ken Casper was born and raised in New York City, served more than thirty years in the United States Air Force, and has since had more than two dozen contemporary novels published. Pres Darby is the author of the autobiographical Tears of the Oppressed: An American Doctor in Afghanistan, and The Reluctant Assassin, a fictional diary of John Wilkes Booth’s adventures after Lincoln’s assassination. Mankillers is set close to where Darby grew up in an antebellum home. Now retired, he lives in San Angelo, Texas.
