Chapter 2: A Common Enemy
Days turned into nights, and Kaito and Aya found themselves crossing paths more frequently, their missions intertwining in ways neither of them had anticipated. Kaito soon learned that Aya wasn't just a skilled fighter—she had the mind of a strategist, always three steps ahead, always analyzing every encounter. Her goal was clear and pure: find her brother. But Neo-Tokyo was no easy place to navigate, and the crime-filled streets often twisted even the best intentions.
One evening, after a particularly brutal fight with a group of thugs, Aya found herself leaning against a steel pillar in a dimly lit street. Her breathing was ragged, her eyes closed. Suddenly, a hand extended a water bottle towards her.
Kaito grunted, “You look like you could use a break.”
Aya took it, her expression softening. “Guess I'm not as tough as I thought.”
Kaito chuckled, “Tough doesn't mean never getting tired. Sometimes, it’s just about not giving up.”
From that moment, an unspoken pact formed between them. They began working together, protecting each other in the treacherous fight rings and dark alleys of the city. The more they fought side by side, the more they began to see beyond each other's guarded exterior.
